Extrusion Die 3D Printing
What is Extrusion?
Extrusion dies are metal channels that impart a specific cross-sectional shape to a polymer stream. The design difficulty centers on achieving the desired shape within set limits of dimensional uniformity at the highest production rate possible.
With the help of 3D printing, we can make functional prototype going before the costly extrusion process,
with the help of 3d printing process will increase faster, you can show a preview to your investors before the production starts,
this helps in eliminating costly tool failures.
Applications of Extrusion Die 3D Printing are
- Solar panel frames
- Windows
- Doors
- Partitions walls
- Low roofing
- Guiding plates
- DIY structural members
- Tube lights
- Racks
- Drawer channels etc…
Types of dies are:
- Solid Dies
- Hollow Dies
- Semi-hollow Dies
All types of dies can be 3D printed in very less time using rapid prototyping by laminating the layers, prototypes can be made in vast ranges of 3D printing technologies.
For low-cost fast prototypes, FDM/FFF 3D printing is preferable.
For High precision, SLA/DLP technology gives an accurate dimensional tolerance,
For Testing prototypes, MJF or SLS, or Metal 3D printing is more reliable than FDM & SLA.
